First track I ever recorded.
I had other tracks written down (eg "Catch Me") but the actual making of the track kept getting postponed due to procrastination. In the meantime I kept making other beats and verses, which is when I wrote this track.
Basically, I made the beat for this song in a couple of minutes, and I loved the smooth jazzy feel of it, and the fact that you could write bars super freely, so I decided to instantly write lyrics to it, and (testing out my new mic for the first time, which is now my old mic) instantly recorded it. After that I added some ad-libs and effects and whatnot. Making the entire song took about 2 hours in total, which is when I realised that making tracks in the spur of the moment (when you're in "the zone"), allows for the best shit to be made IMO.
The themes and topics of the track reflect the production process: it has a spur-of-the-moment, almost freestyled, stream-of-consciousness vibe to it, which is also why there is not really 1 specific theme in this song, ultimately making the lyrics' content pretty vague (as in NOT Crystal clear). The themes I address are amongst others: being a good writer, changing as a person, my history as a stoner, the feeling of being overlooked or even non-existent, and so on.
Because it is a stream-of-consciousness, it allows for many readings, or for very few, depending on who is reading it.
